ABSTRACT Being successful sports science students, it is necessary to have good physical development throughout 4-years undergraduate study program. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare physical performance among all sports science students at Buriram Rajabhat University (BRU), by utilizing basic knowledge for planning and developing exercise program. The 236 sports science students, aged between 17-22 years old, were recruited for this study male (n=164) and female (n=72). The results of baseline clinical characteristics were determined by Body weight, BMI, % of total body fat, WC, HC, hip, SBP, DBP and HR. Physical performance which included hand grips, back strength, leg strength, trunk flexibility, 30 seconds sit up, 50 meters sprint, standing long jump, distance of six-minute walk test (6MWT) and 1600 meters were investigated. All parameters of anthropometry and physical performance were tested at the beginning (pre-test) and the end (post-test) of the first semester. Results of anthropometry testing showed no significant difference of participants, only HR; heart rate of both groups were decreased significantly difference (p<0.01). However, results of physical performance showed increased significant difference (p<0.05) in hand grips, back strength, leg strength, trunk flexibility, 30 seconds sit up, standing long jump, distance of six-minute walk test (6MWT) and 1600 meters in both groups. Also, 50 meters sprint showed no significant difference in both groups. On the other hand, the participants showed improvement of physical performance for both male and female. It was indicated that teaching techniques of sports science program were effective to improve physical performance of all 4-years undergraduate study program of sports science students at Buriram Rajabhat University.
