Abstract:
GW Carina is classified as a Semi-Detached Algol eclipsing binary. The
observation was held at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO), Chile, between
November 24th to December 24th, 2011, using a PROMPT Robotic telescope which has a
diameter of 0.60 meters. The CCD filtered photometry data in B, V, R and I bands were
analyzed to calculate the time of minimum light of the system. The O-C diagram was
calculated in order to study the change in orbital period from observed data from the past till
present. It is found that the system has 1.12890922 days orbital period. The orbital period of
GW Car within the past ten years has been changed. Data from this study will lead to the
physical properties of this binary system.
