Sustainable Nutrient Management Using Zeolite Based Controlled Release Fertilizers
เนื้อหา
Natural and synthetic zeolites are crystalline, hydrated aluminosilicate
materials with a three-dimensional framework structure and high cation
exchange capacity. This mini-review aims to highlight recent research on the
application of zeolites in agriculture. The manuscript provides a brief overview
of both natural and synthetic zeolites, with particular emphasis on zeolites
synthesized from waste and locally available materials, including fly ash, rice
husk ash, slag, perlite glass, sugarcane bagasse ash, porcelain waste, and clay
minerals (e.g., kaolinite and illite). The characterization and agricultural potential
of these zeolites are discussed. The results demonstrate that zeolites exhibit
significant applicability in agriculture, particularly as controlled-release
fertilizers and soil conditioners in innovative agricultural products.
